Replicate Existing Plaster Molding
To replicate an existing Plaster Moulding, you can remove a piece of the moulding and have it sent to our shop location below for replication.

If you are unable to remove a piece of the original plaster moulding, you can do a trace of the molding to create a template which can be sent to us in place of the actual molding section.
Tracing
Making a Template
Plaster molding that is affixed onto the wall can be traced by making a vertical cut into the molding from the top to the bottom of the molding. This molding cut should be done not in the center of the room but rather at a corner of a room making it less visible to the eye. This cut can be re-filled with plaster later hiding the incision.
To create the incision, you may use a razor blade or a multi tool like the Dremel Multi Max MM30 which is easier to use. Make a template by cutting through the plaster moulding. Using a cardboard for your template, push the template board into the angle between the ceiling and wall. Use a pencil to mark both the depth and projection on the wall and ceiling. This trace of the molding on the cardboard is the template and can be given to the fabricator for replicating additional plaster moldings of the existing profile.
If required, DecoCraft USA offers on-site, fee-based services for both tracings, and for copying ornamental design plaster moldings. (For tracing, note that we do not patch or paint the incision caused by tracing.)
